I'm a home healthcare contractor from Lincoln Nebraska.
I've struggled with weight since I was a child. At my worst, I got up to over 450lbs (5xl shirts and 50+ waist pants) in my 20's and 30's. I had been trying to get things under control but was never able to truly commit to change. Around November of 2019, I started feeling the health consequences of my size and decided I needed to do something real. At this point, I was too out of shape to do much in the way of physical exercise, so I started working on a calorie-counting diet. Over the next year, I was able to lose enough weight to introduce exercise into my journey. At this point, I started looking to social media to find fitness influencers for inspiration and direction.
My biggest inspiration is honestly my current mentor. I found Paige on Instagram (@the.workout.paige) I was immediately impressed by her drive and reached out to her. She never ceases to amaze me.
My biggest obstacle has always been myself. It's easy to get into a defeatist mindset when you don't get the changes you would like to see. I have to rely on those around me to notice the change I have achieved.
In talking with Paige, she told me about her work with Angie and Okon. When she said she was working on her certification under Okon, I had to jump at the chance to work with them.
I have always had a very even-keeled mentality. I try to take things in stride, not getting worked up over everything.
I've found a great amount of support from my friends and family. I don't cast my net wide, so those I tend to stick with are usually great people.
I've never really held a personal motto, but I do find motivation from the daily affirmations from Angie on Instagram.
Find your inspiration, whatever it is.
My closest friends have been my friends since Jr high.

I worked with my team to put together a quick list of some of the most common foods so you are able to reference this as you are focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Simple. Easy. Effective.
